UPCOMING NORTHERN CHANNEL ISLANDS CRUISE Sept. 26-30, 2012

We need just 2 more crew to make the Northern Channel Islands trip through OCC a "Go"!!! Dates are Wednesday September 26 through Sunday September 30, 2012.

I plan to make San Miguel Island the first stop with a hike along that marvelous white sand beach and up to the Ranger Station, and then visit the Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island and anchor someplace good like Pelican, head down to Santa Barbara Island, then back to Newport Beach.

This is one of the best trips in So Cal and this is the best time of year for it. Novice level sailors are welcome. See the pictures and YouTube links in this section for more.

Interested people will need to register with OCC, 949-645-9412, but you should call me or email me at the contact info below so I can tell you about the trip and answer questions.

Thanks in advance for any assistance with getting the word out.

Best regards,

Marc Hughston

UPCOMING NORTHERN CHANNEL ISLANDS CRUISE May 2-6, 2012

5/2/12 to 5/6/12 - 5-DAY CRUISE:
Northern Channel Islands Cruise - departing from and returning to Newport Beach, CA
With our first 24 hours spent underway and our first planned stop at San Miguel Island, 142 NM away, this is the way to experience the Northern Channel Islands.

Depending on conditions we will visit San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz and the Painted Cave, and Santa Barbara Island on the way back home, anchoring out each night. The Catalina 42, Betty, has 4 cabins and two heads and will be well provisioned with all meals included and prepared on board - the food is really good. We usually get one or two days of winds in the 25 to 30 knot range - get your heavy weather sailing and cruising experience right here.

Captain: Marc Hughston
