From CBP: Beginning September 5, 2018, SVRS will no longer be in service and float plans will no longer be accepted. Boaters looking for a new, faster way to report their arrival and/or apply for a registered boater program may use the CBP ROAM app, available for free on the Apple App and Google Play stores. Boaters may also continue to report their arrival via designated telephone reporting numbers, if desired. Info on the ROAM app available at: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/pleasure-boats-private-flyers/pleasure-boat-overview/ roam |

Greetings folks, it appears that the TSA has relented and now is allowing passengers to carry, either in carry on or checked luggage, up to two CO2 inflation cylinders with a type V inflatable PFD, subject to individual carrier approval. Previously such compressed gas cylinders were prohibited from both carry-on and checked luggage. If you were travelling to a far away charter you either had to do without or source the bottles at your final destination, leaving them behind when you return. Greetings All, some resources I have found useful: Document Requirements for U. S. Citizens and Foreign Visitors Entering from Canada and Mexico: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/vacation/ready_set_go/whti_bg/ Reporting Requirements for Pleasure Boat Operators: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/pleasure_boats/boats/ A great portal for cruising information for other countries, run by my friend Jimmy Cornell: www.noonsite.com |
