Every boat should have an assortment of common tools like wrenches and screwdrivers. I have seen tool bags on boats rusted together in a big lump and I have seen people go to the extent of buying stainless tools. As someone who carries a lot of tools around that get rained on occasionally, let me recommend garden variety steel tools and WD-40. Spraying WD-40 on your steel engine will keep it from rusting away. Good for wiring too. "WD" stands for water displacing. Its not a lubricant, as commonly supposed. Its a water displacing rust inhibitor. |
