Forwarded from Paul Finnell:
There were great conditions yesterday for the Saddleback Cup! Winds were out of WNW @ approx. 10-15 kts
Mariner started out the race in the lead by a good 6 boat lengths, Keru followed by three and Rhapsody started out the race with the main reefed and was bringing up the rear about three boat lengths behind Keru. As we gybed at the first mark Keru lost a considerable amount of speed. Rhapsody rounded mark un reefed and overtook Keru. On that same leg Rhapsody overtook Mariner and maintained the lead for the remainder of the race finishing a good 8 boat lengths ahead of Mariner. Keru was devastated by the downwind legs. To be expected from a boat that size.
It was a real team effort for Rhapsody that made the victory oh so sweet!
All the Best!

Note from Ric regarding Pilgrimage dipstick issue

DIPSTICK MYSTERY SOLVED!! Pilgrimage had a diesel engine installed several years ago to replace the Atomic 4 (Gasoline) engine that was standard when this vessel was built. I know a guy with a hacksaw ... maybe we can fix the problem!!! :-)
