This is a reminder about the WORSA meeting tonight, May 9, at 7 p.m. at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Corona del Mar. The meeting will be devoted to the topic of safety. We recently had a sailor get knocked off her boat, Annette fell in Ensenada and broke her arm, and there were recent deaths related to boating in heavy weather, etc. At tonight’s meeting, Annette will present a list of recommended safety equipment. In addition, there will be several people talking about the use of a MOB life sling, radio communication in an accident, scene management, evacuation by harbor patrol or helicopter, and a demonstration of the automatic inflating life jackets in the pool area. We have a guest speaker from the Harbor Patrol office joining us. Please come and bring a friend. Anyone (male or female) who supports women in boating is invited. |
