If you are considering taking the Advanced Ocean Sailing class for the first time, or are thinking about repeating, here's a quick reminder on the Compelling Reasons to Sign Up:
1. Heavy Weather Experience. You can read about it all you want to, but the key to becoming comfortable in a real blow is having been there before with an experienced captain. You'll get that in this class.
2. Night-Time Passagemaking. Many weekend sailors never make it to Santa Barbara Island because of the demands of the overnight passage. Plunge right in with us and experience sunrise at sea, and get to a beautiful island well beyond Catalina.
3. More Days On The Water. To borrow a phrase from the Ocean Institute, "Experience is the teacher." Before you get out there on your own, learn who has right of way, what to do if your anchor drags, procedures for sailing in Small Craft Advisory conditions, and more.
4. Two 3-day field trips to the islands (plus the lectures) for less than $250 - that's just amazingly inexpensive.
