On board each boat should be found a blue plastic folder containing discrepancy report forms for that particular vessel and float plan forms that are turned in to the county office each class. FLOAT PLAN forms should be done each class but with abbreviation. Since I turn in a class plan to the county with everybody's name and phone, etc. there is no need to put down phone numbers, times, routes, activities, etc. only names, the date, the vessel, and Saddleback class MST214. The yellow copy goes in the folder and the white copy goes to the instructor to be turned in. DISCREPANCY REPORTS are filled out as a form of vessel log sheet and report form on vessel status such as inventory and breakage or loss. They are specific to the vessel, have info of interest regarding the boat, and should also be filed when complete. They also include checklists for before and after sailing like washdown and cleaning at the end of the sail. I will get more of these printed; please be sure to use them. I have heard hints that perhaps some of us might have gotten lax cleaning up the boats properly. LASTLY please finish cleaning and tidying up the boat and go to class promptly. Don't make me yell. Thanks, Mark |
