Greetings folks, if there comes a time to issue a distress call, anyone on the vessel should be able to do so. Near the radio should be a simple, easily followed process for doing so that a novice would be able to understand and use. This is for your future reference. I will post a copy near the radio if room or in the log binder.

Greetings, for those interested a list of what are called "procedure words" that are a kind of verbal shorthand used by radio folks. Each word has a specific meaning associated with it. You may run accross these or choose to use them from time to time, but you are are not required to do so. Commonly used ones you are likely to run into are "over", "out" (never used in the same sentence as "over") and "say again".

Greetings folks, a cheat sheet of the Phonetic Alphabet for your reference. A copy will be posted by the radio if there is space, otherwise in the log binder.
